TRA’s Most Trusted Brands Rank Dell 1st, Mi Mobiles 2nd, and Samsung Mobiles 3rd; TATA enters 36 brands

Bombay : Dell has been ranked as the most trusted brand in India for the third consecutive year in TRA’s Brand Trust Report (BTR) 2022, the eleventh edition in its series. It is followed in second place by Mi Mobiles, which also topped the cellphone category for the second year and Samsung Mobiles secured the third place. All three brands occupied the same positions in TRA’s previous year’s report. There are 36 TATA Group brands that entered the report this year.
LG Televisions is up one rank from the previous year to rank 4th, topping the TV category and repeating the performance of the last report. Amazon climbed eleven ranks from a year ago to 5th place. In the process, in 6th position, LIC, the public sector life insurance company, is soon releasing its long-awaited IPO. BMW, the maker of premium four-wheelers, ranks 7th this year, up twelve places from the previous report. Titan, the Watches category leader, jumped thirty-three spots from a year ago to take 8th place on this coveted list, and Lenovo Laptops galloped sixty-three spots to take 9th place. Samsung is ranked 10th in the Consumer Electronics – Diversified category.
Sony Entertainment Television, Hindi-GEC, fell four places to settle for 11th place. Two-wheeler manufacturer, Honda, retains the 12th place it held in the previous report. Tata Salt is the 13th most trusted brand in India in 2022, up eight steps, and another Tata brand, Tanishq, climbed thirty-four spots, to 14th place. ICICI Bank climbs fourteen positions to reach 15th place in the list of most trusted brands this year.
The batch of brands ranked sixteenth to twentieth saw their ranks drop from the previous report. Samsung Television drops seven places to 16th place, followed to 17th by Apple iPhone, witnessing a drop of twelve places, and Vivo to 18th takes a bump of eight places this year. LG Refrigerators ranked 19th with a drop of five, and Maruti Suzuki fell twelve places to rank 20th among the 1000 brands listed in TRA’s Most Trusted Brands Report – 2022.
N. Chandramouli, CEO of TRA Research, expanded on the research findings and said, “This year’s report is different in that some brands in the group have gained significantly over others. For the first time, 36 brands from the Tata group entered the list, followed by Godrej with 9 brands. Amul, LG, M&M, Samsung have 8 brands each and Reliance has 7 brands featured in the report.
There are 304 categories of 34 super categories listed in the report. Other category leaders include AMD (semiconductors), Amex (credit cards), Amazon (online retailer), Aachi (spices), AO Smith (water heaters), AU Small Bank (small financial bank), Aviva (life insurance – private), boAt (audio equipment), Godrej Interio (furniture), Jeep (SUV manufacturer), KidZee (preschool), Lenskart (optics), Livpure (water purifiers), Meesho (retailer in Line – Ethnic Clothing), Mount Litera (Schools), Muthoot Finance (Financial Services), Nivea (Skincare), Okaya (Inverter Batteries), Patanjali (FMCG – Diversified), Reliance Jio Mart (Online Grocery), Reliance Smart (Grocery – Retail), Reliance Trends (Value Fashion – Retail) and Wagh Bakri (Tea).
