Indian phone maker Lava has rolled out its new FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) update for its 5G smartphones. The update will allow users of 5G-enabled Lava smartphones to finally use the 5G networks of Airtel and Reliance Jio.
The company currently only has one 5G device in India, namely the Lava Agni 5G, a phone powered by MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset. The phone also comes with 8GB of RAM, 12GB of storage and a 5GB battery. 000 mAh with 30W fast charging. There is also a 6.78 inch FHD+ IPS LCD display on the phone.
“Our goal has always been to provide frequent software updates to our users to improve the overall experience. Our teams quickly implemented the FOTA update for the flagship AGNI 5G smartphone after the government announced the rollout of 5G services earlier this month,” Tejinder Sigh, product manager of Laval International, told about the update deployment.
Note that the update may come to all users in phases and therefore may take some time to reach each phone. Additionally, the update will only be useful for users who are using 5G in one of the few Indian cities currently supported, such as Mumbai and Delhi.
To update their Lava 5G phone with the new firmware, users can wait for the OTA notification to arrive on their device. Alternatively, users can go to their system settings and find the “system update” option, using which they can manually update their phone.
