Jio Phone 5G Launch Planned in India Soon: What to Expect


Reliance telecom giant Jio is expected to launch a new 5G Jio Phone in India soon. It has already been confirmed by telecom giant Reliance that it is working on the phone, but it has yet to reveal any launch details for the smartphone.

The previous year, Reliance Jio launched the Jio Phone Next in collaboration with Google. This handset supports 4G but now the nation is ready for 5G and Reliance wants to debut in the 5G phones section. Moreover, the telecom operator is ready to roll out its 5G services in India on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day.

According to reports, Jio Phone 5G is expected to be launched this year. Talking about the price of the handset, it is expected to cost Rs. 12,000. Rumors have also surfaced that the next phone of this Jio might be available at a price of Rs. 2,500 which is probably hard to believe as smartphones are generally Dear. The amount of Rs. 2500 can optionally be a down payment figure.

Jio Phone 5G is likely to come with bundled data and unlimited calling benefits, just like the Jio Phone Next. Speaking of specs, this upcoming JIO 5G handset could feature a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with 1:600 ​​x 720 pixel resolution and include Snapdragon 480 5G SOC paired with up to 4G RAM and 32 ​GB of storage.

In terms of optics, this upcoming phone is expected to have a dual camera setup on the back comprising a 13MP main sensor and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, it should be equipped with an 8 MP selfie camera sensor.

The Jio 5G phone is expected to run on the same Pragati OS, which is Jio’s custom Android software created in collaboration with Google for Jio Android phones.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Reliance Jio announced the Independence Day offer for its prepaid users. Now, the telecom operator has introduced Har Ghar Tiranga, the Har Ghar JioFiber initiative. As part of the offer, it is offering 15 days of JioFiber plan benefits for free to new subscribers. At the same time, the company also introduced a 750 unlimited plan for its prepaid users.
