At the event, Reliance Jio presented their plans to roll out JioMart and JioMobile support in WhatsApp. Speaking to Meta Commercial Director Marne Levine, Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani, Jio Platforms directors said that support for JioMart and JioMobile charging will arrive in WhatsApp next year. With these two new features, JioMart users will be able to shop and pay for their purchases in WhatsApp. Likewise, Jio subscribers will be able to top up their prepaid mobile numbers via WhatsApp. All these payments will be facilitated through the payment platform of WhatsApp – WhatsApp Pay. Speaking about the availability of JioMart on WhatsApp, Akash Ambani said, “The JioMart experience via WhatsApp is actually, very simply, ‘conversative’ in nature. WhatsApp is extremely simple and easy to use; There is therefore no inhibition of the customer when ordering supplies. It’s extremely intuitive – so there’s no barrier to the technology. How to shop using JioMart on WhatsApp
Speaking about the availability of JioMart on WhatsApp, Isha Ambani said, “All a customer has to do is just order on JioMart. Bread, butter, vegetables, drinks, whatever you need in your household that day or that week… Find a product, set up a subscription for a regular purchase if that’s what you want , or get personalized recommendations based on your past purchase history, it’s all there.
While the feature will roll out next year, here’s how you can use it once you get it:
Step 1: Send “Hi” to JioMart on WhatsApp. JioMart’s number is +91 88500 08000.
Step 2: By doing so, you will receive an automated message with a link to the JioMart page. Add all your information here and click Continue.
Step 3: You will now see a list of all the items available for purchase. Add groceries to your shopping cart.
Step 4: At the time of payment, you will be asked to pay for your purchases with Pay with WhatsApp being one of the options. Tap on it.
Step 5: After that you will receive a message with all the details of your order.
JioMart did not offer a home delivery option when the program was piloted at Navi Mumbai last year. Customers had to rush to the nearest Kirana stores to collect their purchased groceries. It remains to be seen whether JioMart will offer a home delivery option to users for their purchases.
How to top up your prepaid Jio Mobile on WhatsApp
Here is what you need to do to top up your prepaid Jio phone number using WhatsApp:
Step 1: Send “Hi” to JioCare on WhatsApp. JioCare’s mobile number is 7000770007.
Step 2: After that, you will receive a message that will ask you questions about your query. Other options displayed on the screen include “Jio SIM Recharge”. Select this option.
