New Delhi: The telecom maker and distribution company Beetel on Thursday announced plans to foray into the mobile phone accessories segment with the brand name ‘Flix’, and aims to secure a business of around Rs 300 crore by the end of 2021. The company will appoint 600 distributors to sell the items to around 40,000 retailers across the country from next month, Beetel said in a statement.

“Flix aims to capture at least 2% share of the Rs 15,000 crore organized retail market by 2021. With its unique product range, aggressive marketing and excellent after-sales service , Flix aims to become the number one brand in the smart accessories space sector,” said Puneet Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer of Beetel.

Flix’s offerings will include headphones, a truly wireless stereo, power banks, and wired and wireless chargers in the mid-to-high end segment.

“With decades of experience working in India, we see a void for products in the smart accessories arena. To bridge this gap, we are delighted to introduce Flix, a Made in India brand,” said Sachin Kapoor, product manager at Beetel.

Gupta said the company will manufacture accessories at its factory in Punjab and the price will be competitive due to the incentives offered by the state government.

“Beetel has been operating in India for several decades. He has established distribution partners all over India, through which we sell our own products as well as those of other telecom brands. We will also leverage the network to sell Flix products,” says Gupta.

The company hired a team of people who worked with a Chinese company selling accessories in India.

“We are confident that the new team which includes members from a Chinese brand will be able to help us execute our sales strategy. We should be able to reach Rs 300 crore in business over the next year. and a half,” Gupta said.
