With millions of users, WhatsApp is one of the most popular chat apps in the world. By using the app we can connect with people all over the world. In India, it continues to be the most widely used messaging service with over 400 million users.

Many useful services such as chat, voice call, video call, payment and others are currently available on the app. However, the Meta-owned platform has yet to add some features users have been waiting for.

Sending messages to contacts that have not been saved in phone contacts is one such option. Sending WhatsApp messages to an unregistered phone number is officially impossible till date. This is a crucial feature because many WhatsApp privacy settings are limited to “My Contacts”. So, to communicate with someone on WhatsApp, you must first save their contact before you can start chatting with them. However, there are a few methods you can use to send a message to someone whose name hasn’t been saved in your contact list or to someone you don’t know. Here are three such tricks that can help you solve the problem:

Using any web browser:
On your phone, open any internet browser.
Then type the link “http://wa.me/91xxxxxxxxx” in the search box and press “Enter”. In ‘XXXXX’ format, paste the phone number with the appropriate country code.
To open the link after entering the number, press “Enter”.
Your browser will take you to the WhatsApp screen. To continue the chat, press the green “Continue chat” button.
The WhatsApp chat window of the attached mobile number will be launched.
Using Siri Shortcut on iPhone:

On your iPhone, launch the Apple Shortcuts app.
Next, press the “Add Shortcut” button.
Install the shortcut for WhatsApp on the Non-Contact segment.
Tap the shortcut, once installed, to access the app.
A pop-up window will display “Choose recipient”.
Enter the recipient’s phone number and country code.
The specific number’s WhatsApp conversation thread will open.

Using the True Caller app:
Run the ‘Truecaller’ application.
In the search bar, enter the phone number of the person you want to chat with.
The person’s ‘Truecaller’ profile will open.
After that scroll down and click on WhatsApp button in profile.
It will launch the WhatsApp chat window for that particular number.
There are other third-party applications available on the web to solve this problem. However, using such a third-party app is not advised as it may compromise your security and lead to your WhatsApp account being suspended. Therefore, it is always better to avoid using such apps in order to protect the security of your smartphone.
